Dr. Ife Muyiwa-Ojo is an Associate Professor at St. John's College of Nursing, a ministry of Hospital Sisters Health System, in Springfield, Illinois. He teaches bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral nursing students in research, evidence-based practice, pathophysiology, health assessment, medical-surgical nursing, and nursing leadership and business. He holds nurse practitioner degrees in adult-gerontology and psychiatry, and CCRN and CNE certifications.
Dr. Muyiwa-Ojo also brings more than 20 years of engineering and information technology experience. That background shapes his current work on the responsible use of artificial intelligence in nursing education, including faculty development on practical AI use in course design and institutional guidance on ethics and privacy under FERPA and HIPAA.
He leads Men Engaged in Nursing (M.E.N.), a diversity and inclusion initiative in central Illinois grounded in social role theory. The program raised male enrollment at his college from 7% to 12% in two years, and he presented the model at the 2021 AACN Diversity Symposium. He spoke on men in nursing and inclusive leadership at the TRG Nursing Leadership 2026 Conference in Denver. He has also spoken at the Empowered Nurse Leaders Summit and delivers continuing education programs and faculty development workshops for colleges and health systems.
Dr. Muyiwa-Ojo is a two-time recipient of the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) Excellence in Nursing Education award, in 2013 and 2016. His current focus is the retention and advancement of men in nursing and the practical, ethical use of AI in nursing education and practice.
